when i walk past old houses i all ways get a picture in my head of people that have died in ther, or GHOST!!!... the fact that it is an old house makes me shiver. in the book dark house all of the storys are linked to the dark house.
when i walk past an old house or a hospital i always think of how many people have died in there, the smell is disgusting and there all dusty and yuck!!!!
Most of the time when we think of old houses we think of dark scary broken down places that make you think that someone has died in it. Stuff that has just been left there in a hurry makes you think somethinng bad has happened there. Or even just stuff that would have been there normally can freak you out. Sometimes in old houses that someone has died in you think you can see ghosts. In Album the dark house represents an old mans life and then he dies when someone else goes near it.
Things I think that make an old house stir the imagination....:)
-The possible history behind the house because it has been around for soooo long including death and murder. -The Darkness, Smell, dark and dull colours, the unknown. -Also more doors and rooms and they are enclosed.
Lots of things about old houses stir the imagination. The old Mildura base hospital is just one of them. This is what scares me about old houses -thinking what has happened in them eg. deaths -Spiderwebs -creeks -objects around them -How big it is -dull colour -old people living in them -garden overgrown -Hauntings -ghosts - This is what stirs the imagination -The way they look eg. how dark it is -Hauntings -The way they look -Being dark -Old people in them -being vacant -garden overgrown
The things that stir my imaginatin are, the stories you hear about the house, if the house creeks, the memories about the house, if you hear a noise you thnk someone or something is in the house, the way it looks.

i think that old houses stir our immagenation by, only we think of them in witch we belive might be true like: Death Darkness Old people Un tidy Bits brocken off the house open areas old items. all of these thing ma scare us. in my appinoin like when you think of all of the memoreys they hold , i think off death mostly beacause straight away i think of old people dieing there in there beads or passed out on the floors. witch makes mw think that thay are hornted.
old houses stir the imagination beacause of all the unknown history that lay in their walls. It's creepy to think about what could of happened in that house throughout the course of it's being. Why are there scatches stains and holes in the walls, roof and floor? how many families have lived there? how many people have died their? Its the mystery of not knowing that makes our imagination run wild....

The darkness and what could lie within that darkness, the state the houses are left in as in what they look like smell, how old they're but just how the paint looks as if it is striping.. What and who use to live in the house, what happen whist living in the house?
The things that are scary in the old house: how they are dark, what they look like, stories people have told about the old house, the fences and how they make noises when they open and shut, if there are swings and if there where people that died there and the memories they had there.
Why do old houses make me think these things: Because anything could of happened in the old houses, there could of been people killed in them or just died. how they look makes them scary, the stories people have told me about the house, and how the house is always dark and bits and peices falling off the house is scary.
Old houses stir the imagination because of: -the darkness -looking broken -creepy -horror -old people -untidy -high rooves & big open areas -things left unattended -creeky noises that sound like someone else is there. -makes you feel anxious.
Even if the house is perfectly normal, the fact that it is old, makes you feel like there is something abnormal about it and it freaks you out.
Old houses make me feel anxious about what is inside. The history of the house. It makes me imagine things i never think about, such as ghosts, murderers and death. I imagine that the inside of the house is dark and eerie, with a funny smell and old furniture. I consider the history of the house and how old it might be. Sometimes even the people who have previously lived there and even how they may have died? Could there be ghosts living there? Can people really hear sounds coming from the house at night? Old houses are creepy...
