- Nigel is not his real name, Steven made up his name and we only hear of Nigel through Steven’s eyes. More evidence he is crazy. Nigel is also the colloquial nick name for someone who is a square- Steven thinks Nigel is a suck-up… could be why he named him Nigel in his diary.
Charlie Sunrise
- Traditional aboriginal values
- Lives at the mission (place were homeless live)
- Connected with the past.
Wouter Loos
- Murderer and rapist
- Writes journal in text
- Looks after Jan Pelgrom- is in charge of him
- Tries to trade with the aboriginals.
Jan Pelgrom
- Rapist and murderer
- Psychopathic- because he murders to impress people he feels are better than him
- Has no emotion kills those he loves- Lucky and Ela
- Immature

- Only white girl present on the island.
- Vulnerable
- Whole family dies floating into WA on a raft.
- She is 16-18 years old with blonde hair and yellow/white skin

Steven Messenger talks about his Dad as though he is still alive but in the end it turns out that he had been dead for a while. So it seems that he is a bit crazy........................

ReplyDeleteSteven Messenger is the main character in the book and is thought to suffer from Schisofrinia. He is the one who discovers the "Canibal Pot" and its contents which was a leather bound journal and a mummafied hand which was missing an important object, The Ring. Steven finds the ring and deciedes not to return it to the police to undergo investigations, which is when all of his troubles start. Like for example the death of Charlie Sunrise, and also his hilosinations of another Steven Messenger, only better looking and much cooler than he.
ReplyDeleteNigel Kratzman lives a short distance from Steven. It seems he has similar qualities to Wouter Loos. He has a car in which is is "doing up" and he always seems to be working on this. Although he and Steven do not get along, he is forced to ucomponie him as there is no one els.
Charlie Sunrise is a character who is introuduced into the book after the Canibal Pot was disscovered. Unfortunatly, he is killed by Steven Messenger after he disscovers that Steven has been hiding the ring all along.
Wouter Loos and Jan Pelgrom are two Phsycopathic murderers who are exiled to an island for the deaths of 120 people aboard the Batavia. They are both forced to ucumponie oneanother during their time on the island, even though there were insadents were Jan threatened to kill Wouter
Steven messenger thinks that he is incontrol of everything. But he is not. He is crazy. He gets home well before Nigel does. Nigel is in the car and Steven is on foot. Also another example is steven refers to his dad then we find out his dad is dead

steven measenger is the one who found the ring in the canable pot,, with a really disgusting mummifyed hand and aslo a walet,, steven measeger finds the ring in his sleeping bag and then decides to keep it,, when he puts the ring on he is a hole diffrent person,, he can seee in to the pastof wat Jan and Wouter were like,, gross and disgusting man, they murded and raped people aboard the batavia.Steven sees another steven measgenger that is way cooler then him and has a good life,, he also kills Charlie Sunrise because he knows that he has the ring,,, the ring changed his life,, and every one elses... :) xx
